Double Oh Seven I am not

because the licence that arrived today was to drive, not kill.

Pretty it isn't, but useful it will be, and puts me in an interesting position of choice. If I get pulled over in CA, I won't have a choice, I'll have to show the State licence. If, however, I get pulled over in any other state, I'll pull out the British licence and hope they let me off with a warning in lieu of them doing lots of paperwork.

Should I go back to Blighty, I'll pull out the CA version, just to really mess with their heads. In NL, I could use either the GB or CA but they'll probably still lock me up.

Happy happy joy joy.

Heh - in MA when I could drive on my UK license (for 1 year after moving), it really screwed them up - not a rental car, got a local address, uk license ... errrr

Now I just got a radar detector instead :)

When my brother lived in Gemany he got a Euro licence as well as his UK one. When he had his 12 month driving ban here he did think about carrying on but using that, but in the end he was good, but when they went on holiday to Cyprus he did hire one with his Euro licence so it did come in handy.

CA has a 10 day time frame until you have to register for a CA licence :(

Still, the test was easy, and like I said, it could come in useful in the future. I'll just have to remember to "lose it" before I leave the US - so that I can get one that's valid a full 5 years after I leave ;)
